Yaojing Culture, one of the leading eSports organizations in China, has announced that over the weekend, they are going to set up their headquarters in Putuo District, Shanghai.

Ambition to be eSports Capital of the World

Yaojing Culture owns well-known eSports club QGspeed and QGhappy. The company recently announced the plans of setting up their headquarter in Changfeng Business District. This decision is going to consolidate as well as strengthen Shanghai’s aspirations of becoming the eSports capital of the world.

It is worth mentioning here that Qghappy is the only club participating in King Pro League (a leading mobile eSports event in China) that has won five championships. Similarly, QGspeed has won 3 championships in QQspeed, which is a very popular and favorite car racing game.

Shanghai’s Aims

Shanghai has the target of becoming the eSports Capital of the world, just like Los Angeles, which attracts well-known developers and popular game clubs such as Infinity Ward, Activision Blizzard, and Riot Games.

If we look at the statistics, we find that Shanghai has hosted around forty percent of the country’s leading eSports competitions and has constructed about thirty-five eSports stadiums. Moreover, almost eighty percent of the country’s leading players and clubs are based in Shanghai.

As per the eSports Association of Shanghai, this year, the value of the eSports sector of Shanghai is estimated to reach almost nineteen billion Yuan or 2.8 billion dollars.

Also, Changfeng’s Shanghai Fintech Industry cluster has been turned by Putuo into a leading eSports hub and over three hundred tourism, cultural, games, and eSports firms have established their centers in Changfeng.

Preferential Policies

Putuo has released a good number of preferential policies for supporting the development of eSports players and clubs. Additionally, Putuo based top clubs are entitled to get as much as 500K Yuan as subsidies each year from the district government. Similarly, if someone wins any leading international eSports game, then the player or club can get as much as 800K Yuan.
